Cowboy Timber can help with your fencing needs. We sell a range of treated and untreated posts and poles made from Lodgepole Pine grown on the Bighorn Mountains. We provide pointed posts, set posts, sign posts, fence stays, and other related products. We also offer peeled and unpeeled (barkie) corral poles and fence rails. We offer a range of post and pole diameters from 2” fence stays to 8” guard rail posts. Available lengths range up to 25+ feet.
As specified, we treat our lumber and posts with CuNap, which is the safest and most effective oil-based wood preservative on the market. Our environmentally friendly CuNap treatment process guarantees that you’ll be enjoying the beauty and functionality of your fence for many years.

Cowboy Timber mills a variety of full dimension rough cut lumber for a range of uses. Rough cut beams, boards, and planks are cut full dimension, meaning a 2×6 is really 2” by 6”. Our main log species include Douglas Fir, Yellow Pine, and Lodgepole Pine. Other species may be available – just ask.
Our lumber is used for a range of purposes including fences, corrals, windbreaks, floors, bridge and trailer planks, and even furring strips. Common sizes include 1×4, 1×6, 2×4, 2×6, 2×8, and 2×10. We can also cut specialty beams up to 20″ in width.
Fence Boards
Cowboy Timber offers #1 fence boards with four solid face edges; these boards are stocked in 1×6 and 1×8 widths, with custom sizes available.
Our Rancher line of fence boards are also available in 1×6 and 1×8 widths with lenghts of 6′ or 8. These boards are great for creating windbreaks using your existing fencing. Rancher boards are strong and straight and priced with your operating plan in mind. Check with us for pricing per board or per bunk.

January 1, 2018 – Standard Rough Cut Pricing
Our standard pricing for rough cut lumber up to 9” by 9” is $1.25 per board foot for lengths up to 20’. So, a 2×6-12′ is priced at $14.40, while a 2×8-16′ will run $26.67, and 6×8-14′ beam will cost $70.
Pricing for 9″, 10″, and 11″ widths, up to 20′, is $1.50 per board foot; so, a 2×10-10′ will cost $25.00, and an 8×10-16′ beam will run $160.
For larger boards and beams (12+ inches), we quote on a job basis – please ask.
Due to saw log availability, orders specifying Doug Fir (vs. Lodgepole Pine or Yellow Pine) may be surcharged, starting at a 10% premium.
We can also treat your boards or timbers; please ask about pricing.
We commonly cut up to 20×20-20′ on our main circle saw. Our double cut saw can cut up to 6×10-24′. Prices for very large or very small dimensions are quoted on a one-off basis.
We offer quantity discounts, so please contact us for a quote on your specific project. We strive to be highly competitive on all products of similar quality on a similar timeline.
Specific species and moisture content requests (e.g., all Douglas Fir or all dead standing) may incur a surcharge depending on log availability. Finally, as with most businesses, market movements require our pricing to be subject to change.

As of January 2018, Cowboy Timber has a very limited supply of firewood available as follows:
- Log truck loads (around 14 cords).
- Logs cut to specific lengths (8, 10, 12, etc).
- Rounds cut at 16-18” (or larger).
- Split wood cut at 16-18” (or larger).
- Lodgepole cut offs (or larger).
- Sawmill slabs and cut offs.
Pricing varies, so please call. Delivery is available; or, you can save by bringing your truck or trailer to the sawmill, where we’ll help you load up.
